About Ashley

Hi, I'm Ashley.

I'm a speech-language pathologist specializing in early intervention. I founded Pediatric Playground Therapy because every child deserves the chance to find their voice — and every family deserves a trusted partner in the process.

Young children learn best through play, relationships, and everyday experiences, so that's how I work: sessions follow your child's lead, honor the way they naturally think and learn, and build on what they already do well. It's an approach grounded in current evidence — and in the belief that confidence and connection come before communication.

Sessions happen where children learn best — at home or at daycare/preschool — using familiar toys and routines, with parents and caregivers as close partners so progress continues between visits. Whether we're celebrating a first word, building longer sentences, or helping your child be more easily understood, my goal is for your family to feel supported and confident.

FAQ

Questions families ask us.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a private pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide a detailed "superbill" that you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you work with regional centers?

Yes — Ashley is contracted through Westside Regional Center, which provides state-sponsored early intervention services for children under 3 in the Westside region. If your family is with WRC, ask your service coordinator about receiving services with Pediatric Playground Therapy.

How do I know if my child needs speech therapy?

You know your child best. If they aren't reaching communication milestones, seem frustrated trying to get their message across, or something just feels different, it's worth reaching out. Early support makes a meaningful difference, and a free consultation is a low-pressure place to start.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are entirely play-based and follow your child's lead — whether at home or at daycare/preschool. Ashley brings engaging toys and activities tailored to your child's interests, and weaves purposeful therapeutic goals naturally into play, so sessions feel like a fun playdate.

What does an evaluation involve?

An initial evaluation takes place in your home, with a parent or caregiver present. Ashley observes your child's communication through play, talks with you about your child's history, and uses standardized assessments. Plan for around 90 minutes, after which you'll receive a full written report and personalized therapy plan.

What area do you serve?

We come to families across the Westside of Los Angeles — including Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Culver City, Mar Vista, Venice, and nearby neighborhoods. Contact us to confirm we cover yours — we do our best to accommodate families who need us.

How long will my child need therapy?

Every child is different, so progress depends on each child's unique profile, consistency of sessions, and practice between visits. Ashley works with you to set clear, measurable goals and reviews progress regularly so you always know where things stand.
